The Grand Pier in Weston Super Mare was destroyed by fire and has been rebuilt and officially reopened by Princess Anne.

Boasting everything from traditional seaside rides - such as dodgems and carousels - to state-of-the-art rollercoasters, the new-look pier can hold 6,700 people and is expected to attract 4 million visitors a year.

Silcock Dawson provided a full Building Services Consultancy in connection with the redevelopment including the feature lighting.

The Red, Green and Blue (RGB) LED feature lighting system runs the length of the Pier following the contours of the canopy from the shore end.

It then transfers over to the Pavilion building where three rows of lights are installed throughout.

The lighting system can be programmed to pulse, sending light along the Pier and across the Pavilion building in wave-like motions. It can also be programmed to be any colour.
