Fresh Wharf is a 950 unit residential development by Countryside Properties. The proposed development is on an existing industrial site adjacent to the river Roding in Barking. The development will also include new moorings on the river and boat users welfare facilities.

Silcock Dawson were originally appointed by Countryside Properties as part of a Design Team tasked to improve the consented scheme which culminated in a Section 73 Planning Application submitted in 2014 and granted in 2015. We were subsequently appointed to carry out the detailed design of Phase 1.

The construction is being carried out in two phases, phase 1 comprising 532 dwellings and 952sq.m of retail accommodation. 204 of the Phase 1 dwellings will be managed by Notting Hill Genesis for the private rented sector.

A reserved matters detailed planning application has been made and was granted for Phase 1 in February 2018.

Silcock Dawson have been involved in the planning process throughout the project and have developed the site wide energy strategy.

The whole development is to be served from a central energy centre and a district heating system. Silcock Dawson have fully designed the energy centre and district heating system. We have also assisted Countryside Properties in selecting an ESCo to operate the system.
