The Swimming Pool and World Class Dive Centre which is an extension to the existing Garons Pool Tennis & Leisure Centre located in Southend.

The new facility will incorporate a 25 metre, 8-lane, Competition Pool and a world class Dive Pool. The diving pool has fixed platforms positioned at 1 metre, 3 metre, 5 metre, 7.5 metre and 10 metre heights, two springboards at 1 metre and a further springboard at 3 metres.

The swimming pool features a moveable floor to enable swimming lessons and exercise classes to take place, as well as a water agitation and air cushion system for use in dive training.

A dry diving training facility has been incorporated complete with harnesses and trampolines which is a key provision for dive training.

Other facilities include a children’s fun pool with water slide, a shell water spray, massage seat, fountain and a beach-style gradient allowing bathers to walk from poolside into the water.

The Centre also incorporates wet change facilities, 374 capacity spectator seating, including 22 wheelchair spaces, a new reception area and inter-building access link.

Silcock Dawson were appointed as Consultants to undertake the design of the Mechanical and Electrical services, Pool Water Filtration, Pool Moveable Floor and Dive Pool Air Bubble System. In addition we were appointed as BREEAM Assessors to achieve a ’very good’ rating.
