The project included the refurbishment of 5 floors of existing open plan teaching laboratory space and construction of a new high specification medical research facilities with category I, II & III accommodation.

Silcock Dawson were commissioned to carry out the design and co-ordination of Mechanical & Electrical Services installations which included all HVAC and electrical systems, 17 fume cupboards, 27 microbiological safety cabinets, medical gases, gas scavenging, purified water systems, cold rooms, CAT 5e data installations and a full BEMS, together with the organisation and supervision of an asbestos survey and removal contract.

The project was JIF funded and was procured on a two-stage basis under the ECC contract.
